The Bike Parade was a nice event and we hope everyone had fun. A big Thank You to the “Parks Foundation Calgary” who made this event possible by providing us with the necessary funds.
We will leave all the info on this page as it was written for the event to help future Boards and future events with all the necessary info (including the waiver attached and the registering form. A big thank you to all the participants and their families (Oct.04, 2021).
Let’s decorate our bikes and chase the big trophy. Let’s ride for better times and for a better community, let’s overcome all that was thrown at us in the last 18 months. A lot of prizes are on the line with the big winners of each category having their names engraved on the trophy.
Popcorn & Cotton Candy will be available for a $2 donation – please make sure you have the right amount (it will tremendously help our volunteers).
This event is a continuation of the Mini Olympics we had in 2019 – that was the first ever event the New Brighton Community Association put together and was unfortunate that the pandemic stopped us from doing it in 2020. We still owe the 2019 big winners a photo op with the trophy.
We need to say that building the trophy took a lot of volunteering hours, a lot of kinder toys and a lot of determination – thank you to everyone who was part of this effort in 2019.
All the social distancing rules for outside gatherings will be followed as per AHS recommendations.

Age groups
- 0 to 5 (parent’s help allowed 🙂 )
- 6 to 9 and
- 10 to 13
Few days before the Bike Parade every participant will get a parade number by email and you are kindly asked to print that number or write it on something and make sure the kid will show that number to the jury – we need the participant’s number for awarding the prizes and not for parading in a certain order.
The event will take place near the Bell-Tower and the jury will film all the participants. The big winners will be chosen in the following days and the prizes will be individually delivered – this way we avoid any crowding and we follow the rules of AHS.
Each participant will bike in front of the jury and will stop for few seconds to show the number and to show off his decorated bike. After that they can continue to bike around and they are free to watch the event following all the social distancing rules. Our entertainer will give the directions for the Parade and we will start with the 0 to 5 age group followed by 6 to 9 and 10 to 13. We ask the participants to respect the minimum 2m distance when waiting in line for parading and to follow the lines that will be drawn on the park path.
